Role Overview: As the first compliance hire at BoomFi, the Head of Compliance - MLRO will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading our compliance program from scratch. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take complete ownership and responsibility for laying down the fundamentals: client onboarding, AML, CTF, transaction monitoring, SARs reporting, regulatory relationship and interfacing, board reporting, and serving as the internal opinion expert to our commercial and product teams.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the overall compliance programme for BoomFi, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Program Development: Build a comprehensive and scalable compliance program, you will with the help of a Product Manager lead on building the most efficient AML automation system in the industry.
• Client Onboarding: Develop and oversee robust, high NPS client onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, risk mitigation and best UX.
• AML/CTF: Design and implement effective AML and CTF programs, staying ahead of emerging trends and regulatory changes.
• Transaction Monitoring: Establish advanced transaction monitoring systems and rules to detect and prevent suspicious activities.
• SARs Reporting: Lead the reporting process for suspicious activities, maintaining a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
• Regulatory Relationship Management: Interface with regulatory authorities, cultivating positive relationships and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations. Especially important to have experience in Europe and nice to have for other regions such as UAE, Singapore and UK.
• Board Reporting: Provide regular, insightful reports to the board on compliance performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
